We are currently working on an assortment that meets all the strict standards required of a high quality, commercially viable rose variety. The introduction of the first cultivar is expected in 2012.
In Klazienaveen (in the Netherlands) is the nursery where all the breeding activity takes place. In the modern, 2500 m2 greenhouse, cross-fertilization is performed and the first and second selections are made. Hundreds of different cultivars have been planted and these are used as a gene bank. When the first and second selections have been made, about 350 seedlings remain to be propagated for further selection. From that point onwards, selection is carried out at the testing and showing site in Africa.
The video gives an overview of the breeding location in Klazienaveen and the breeding activities.
